Superior persons, what investing advice would you give to someone without insider trading connection? s? Where can they become connected enough to learn enough about investing to help their economic situation and not be ripped off by the "big boys"?

Can anybody give some advice on investing in real estate? Im so eager to begin investing in real estate but i feel like there's things holding me back. I plan on going to a university far from home so that's one. I' young (20) and i have a job but i dont think a bank will finance me. I stay with my parents. I was planning on getting everything settled now so when i do leave for a university i'll be able to be approved for a mortgage on a condo then wait a couple years to build equity give me some advice please

how do i find sound real estate investing advice without all the commercials? i am a flooring installer and finish carperter who is looking to expand my business to residential real estate. every serch just turns up"get rich quick scams" and web sites trying to get me to sign up with them. there has got to be a better way.

Advice on Investing for a 25 year old? I am a 25 yr old married man. Total net income is approx. 80k/yr. My wife has no 401(k)/IRA, but I do have a company matched which i max out and then add on 6% before tax unmatched after that, which totals 12% of my paycheck going into my 401(k). We have our savings, approx 17k in a high interest online savings account. We have a 529 being funded $100 every month for when my wife goes back to school. We also have approx. 35k in mutual funds. Zero credit card/school loan debt and only a car payment on 1 of our 2 cars. We do rent as of now, only because we are "on call" to be transfered out of town within 6 months. Here is my question: We will be coming into approx. 5k in the next month or so and I want some opinions on how to invest it. Stick with mutual funds? Are REITS even worth it with the housing market as it is? I am pretty familiar with mutual funds, but after that, my knowledge is limited. Any advice?

I need investing advice , Do I sell my house? I am only 30 years old and I own a house in another state with 100,000.00 dollars or more equity depending on the market. We bought the house 5 years ago and it tripled in equity in 5 years now I have moved for employment. I am living in my Grandmothers house she is passed away with no rent payments. I will be moving out in 2 years and plan on buying or building a home then. I currently have renters in the home but only profit $ 300.00 a month if there is no repairs. So I would like your opinion , should I sell now while the getting is good. The home is only 1000 square feet and I am concerned how much more can it go up?

Moving to Canada from UK - Investing advice? My husband and I are moving to Canada in the next couple of years with a decent sum of money. We have been advised to place the money into long-term investments. Obviously we would either keep the money in a British investment or Canadian investment - whichever offers the higher yield. Advice is most welcome! Just to clarify - this isn't a question of which 'country' to invest in - although it might sound like it. Investment options in Canada may prove more profitable with our £ (pounds stirling) than any of the British investment options. As for lumber, thanks to the USA, that hasn't been doing so well in Canada recently either.. so no, we certainly won't be investing in that.

Why should someone pay for finical advice when the broker is investing their money into mutual funds? The broker is paid a commisision. Plus, the broker gets the fee for the advice. I have to pay internal investment management fee inside the mutual fund. It does not appear that the broker is managing the investment.
